Action ready to begin in the Main Event
The final two players left in the World Series of Poker’s $10,000 buy-in No-limit Hold’em World Championship event will begin sometime after 8 p.m. inside the Rio’s Penn & Teller Theater.
First, two of the game’s greats, 1995 World Poker Champion Dan Harrington and eight-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel, will be formally inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
Then, the heads-up action begins.
Jonathan Duhamel, 23, of Quebec, Canada, has 188.95 million in chips while John Racener, 24, of Port Richey, Fla., has 30.75 million in chips. A better than 6-to-1 chip advantage.
When play begins, there will be just under 14 minutes left in Level 40, with the blinds at $600,000 and $1.2 million. When time switches over to Level 41, the blinds will be $800,000 and $1.6 million for two hours.
The structure doesn’t give Racener much time to make up his ground.
