Amodei brings in big gun
Two days from the start of early voting, Republican Mark Amodei is bringing in a big gun to close a deal with residents of the 2nd Congressional District.
A television ad from Amodei’s camp that starts running today features Gov. Brian Sandoval repeating his endorsement of the former state senator and former GOP state chairman.
"Times like these require principled leadership," says Sandoval, who polling shows has maintained the popularity that got him elected last November.
"We need fiscal conservatives in Congress like no other time in our history," Sandoval says. "I am confident he will always do the right thing for Nevada."
Amodei is facing off against Democratic state Treasurer Kate Marshall. Early voting begins Saturday for the election to fill the vacant U.S. House seat for the 2nd District that encompasses the Reno-Carson area, the rural stretches of the state and outlying segments of Clark County.
