Courthouse sources: Desai to be charged with neglect, fraud
Reliable court system sources confirm Dr. Dipak Desai has been informed he will be charged with criminal neglect and billing fraud by the Clark County District Attorney’s Office in the wake of the testing scandal at his Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada.
Authorities have been investigating the high number of hepatitis C cases at the clinic, where nurses were seen reusing syringes and possibly contaminating medication vials that could have infected patients. The dangerous practice was done at Desai’s direction, according to multiple sources.
