Dining Pick of the Week: Biscuits 2 Burgers

PICK OF THE WEEK:

BISCUITS 2 BURGERS

9700 W. Tropicana Ave. at Grand Canyon Drive, 702-570-6877

Enjoying a traditional Southern biscuit says home cooking more than just about anything else. Executive chef Joseph Giancaspro and his two assistant chefs, Alfredo Carranza and Eddie Reyes, are making these biscuits fresh every morning. Have several with a large cup of coffee or build your own biscuit slider. Start with a buttermilk, cheddar, jalapeno or herb biscuit and then add meat (bacon, sausage, Canadian ham), egg and cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, pepperjack). Other breakfast items are whole grain or buttermilk pancakes, malted waffles, challah French toast, build-your-own-omelets, blintzes, Taylor ham and egg sandwich on kaiser roll, homemade granola and yogurt, and breakfast burrito with eggs, peppers, onions, chorizo and cheese. Sandwiches are served with chips, fries and kosher pickle and include 6-ounce Angus beef burgers such as New York with pastrami, California with avocado and tomato, Hawaiian with pineapple, onion, bacon and cheddar, Turkey burger, grilled chicken breast and a South of the Border burger with chili, salsa, pepperjack cheese, lettuce and sour cream. Be sure to ask for a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Biscuit sliders start at $6.75 and hamburgers at $6.25. Biscuits 2 Burgers is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Jack Bulavsky
