DINING: Tip a cop, take a class, put a picture on a pizza

  We don’t have many cows to tip in these parts, but here’s a chance to tip a cop:
  The Claim Jumper restaurants at Town Square, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South; 1100 S. Fort Apache Road; and 601 N. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson will sponsor Tip-A-Cop from 5 to 9 p.m. April 8. During those hours, local law enforcement officers will seat guests, serve beverages, deliver meals and bus tables to raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics. …
  Dos Caminos corporate executive chef Scott Linquist and Dos Caminos Las Vegas executive chef Roberto Hernandez will lead a Mother’s Day Brunch-themed cocktail and cooking demonstration from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 8 and 9. It’s $65 per person plus tax and tip and includes coffee and hot Mexican chocolate on arrival, a signed copy of “Mod Mex” by Linquist, cocktail and cooking demonstration, lunch tasting of demonstrated food items; and two cocktails.   Peter Sherlock, executive chef of the Springs Cafe by Wolfgang Puck, will lead workshops on seasonal and sustainable foods this spring at the restaurant at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. The quarterly series of three classes is $140 for preserve members, $200 for nonmembers; a free family membership will be offered to nonmembers with the purchase of the series. Individual events are $50 for members, $75 for nonmembers. The series schedule is as follows: April 21, cooking with herbs; May 19, sustainable seafood; and June 16, pizza.   American Fish at Aria, 3730 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has introduced a happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and a $55-per-person (plus $25 for wine pairings) three-course pre-theater menu from 5 to 6 p.m. daily. During happy hour, food on the lounge menu is half off. The pre-theater menu has an Elvis theme, with such dishes as oyster chowder, shrimp and grits, duet of Kurobota pork, mixed grill, fillet of beef, butternut spice cake and Valrhona chocolate custard. …
  Four restaurants at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, have introduced “The Lion King” dinner-and-show packages. The participating restaurants are rm seafood, Aureole, Stripsteak and Fleur de Lys. Packages start at $109 and include a prix-fixe dinner menu, show tickets and an automatic seat upgrade.
