Findlay Chevrolet, Burn Foundation combine for ‘Fill the Fire Truck Toy Drive’

Findlay Chevrolet and the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation have formed a strong working relationship for the past five years. The two standouts in the community are combining for the Firefighters of Southern Nevada “Fill The Fire Truck Toy Drive” for the holiday season.

Started through longtime friends Clark County Fire Department Captain Warren Whitney, president of the SNBF, and Findlay Chevrolet Sales Manager Doug Fleming, the partnership began with the annual Frank’s Father’s Day Car Show each Father’s Day and Thanksgiving at the dealership between Jones and Rainbow boulevards in the southwest valley.

The car shows that draw more than 200 classic vehicles twice a year — along with more than 500 car enthusiasts — have combined to raise about $20,000 for the victims of fires through the After the Fire is Out Program in Southern Nevada.

The toy drive kicked off this week at various locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Findlay Chevrolet is one of the drop-off points that are all over the valley.

An estimated 30 locations are involved in the toy drive, which will conclude Dec. 21. Gifts will be distributed to local charities. There were about 19,000 gifts to children in the valley last year.

“The Findlay people are very community oriented,” said Warren, 44, a native Las Vegan. “The Burn Foundation is lucky and grateful to have partnered up with Findlay Chevrolet in its continued effort to give back to the community.”

Findlay Automotive Group stores are always involved in the community, especially during the holidays as evidenced by the list of stores this year.

Located between Rainbow and Jones boulevards off the 215 Beltway, Findlay Chevrolet is headed by General Manager Jamaal McCoy.

Findlay Chevrolet is part of Findlay Automotive Group, founded more than 50 years ago by the late Pete Findlay, whose son, Cliff, now spearheads new and pre-owned vehicle operations in Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Arizona and Idaho.
