GLVAR releases January housing statistics

Local housing statistics released by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors show the first month of 2009 with declining home prices, a stable inventory of homes on the market and home sales soaring compared to last year.

The total number of local single-family homes sold in January was 2,224, up 126.2 percent from 983 sales in January 2008. The total number of condos and townhomes sold in January was 440.
