How finances stack up in congressional campaigns

The three front-runners seeking the Democratic nomination in the 4th Congressional District are still in a fundraising race with less than two weeks to go before the June 14 primaries.

After lagging behind Ruben Kihuen and Susie Lee going into April, Lucy Flores received a major boost when Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders asked supporters to donate to her campaign.

Flores, a former assemblywoman, received more than $600,000 from April 1 to May 25, according to her Federal Election Commission filing. Most of her donations were less than $100.

Flores spent $529,930 during the filing period, with nearly $300,000 going toward to media advertising and another $86,000 on direct mail fliers. She reported $237,789 cash on hand.

Here’s how the other Democrats fared during the April 1 to May 25 filing period:

Susie Lee: $269,418 on hand. Raised $73962, spent $546,876. Lee loaned her campaign $300,000.

State Sen. Ruben Kihuen: $163,933 on hand. Raised $215,292, spent $475,321.

Dan Rolle: $3,009 on hand. Raised $4,217, spent $2,683.

Mike Schaefer: $0 on hand.

Morse Arberry Jr., Brandon Casutt and Rodney Smith did not file as of 9 p.m. Thursday.

Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Cresent Hardy reported $681,593 cash on hand. He’s seeking a second term.

His GOP opponents Wayne Villines and Mike Monroe didn’t file with the FEC as of 9 p.m. Thursday.

3rd Congressional District

With $293,864, Nevada Senate Majority Leader Michael Roberson has more cash on hand than all of his GOP primary opponents combined in the race for the 3rd Congressional District.

He raised another $67,885 this filing period, bringing his total to over $921,000. He spent $459,219 over the two months, putting a majority toward media ads.

On the Democratic side, Jesse Sbaih reported $563,819 cash on hand after loaning his campaign $500,000. He raised $23,834, spent $61,439.

Here’s how other candidates fared:

GOP

Danny Tarkanian: $64,581 on hand. Raised $37,889, spent $524,188.

Michele Fiore: $47,281 on hand. Raised $110,451, spent $137,615.

Andy Matthews: $70,910 on hand. Raised $28,569, spent $43,686.

Kerry Bowers: $3,776 cash on hand. Raised $16,131, spent $16,601.

Annette Teijeiro and Sami Khal did not did not file with the FEC as of 9 p.m. Thursday.

DEMOCRATS

Jacky Rosen: $129,135 on hand. She raised $150,069, and spent $184,154.

Candidates Steven Schiffman, Alex Singer, Neil Waite and Barry Michaels did not did not file with the FEC as of 9 p.m. Thursday.

1st Congressional District

Incumbent U.S. Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., is the only one raising any noteworthy campaign donations in the 1st Congressional District primary. Titus has $353,340 on hand after raising $101,607 during the period.

Democrats Patrick Boylan and Jose Solorio did not file with the FEC by late Thursday.

On the GOP side, Fred Horne leads the way with $3,420 cash on hand. Mary Perry has $1,552 cash on hand. Candidates Louis Baker, Jeff Miller and Gary Johnston did not file with the FEC by late Thursday.
