Law student wins World Series of Poker event
A University of Virginia law student won his first gold bracelet at the World Series of Poker late Tuesday.

Leo Wolpert outlasted a field of 256 players to win the $10,000 buy-in heads-up no-limit hold’em to take the $652,682 first prize.
The 26-year-old Wolpert is a former professional poker player who built up his bank account over two years before entering law school.
He is spending his summer in Las Vegas as an intern for the Nevada Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.
This was Wolpert’s second final table appearance at the World Series of Poker. He finished third in a 2008 event. He currently has $880,156 is career series winnings.
In the event, 10-time bracelet winner and two-time world champion Johnny Chan made it to the final eight.
