Man in stolen cab hands out cash, high-fives bystanders
A man surrendered to police after leading them on a two-hour slow-pursuit chase through South Los Angeles on Saturday.
The chase began at 1:30 p.m. in Inglewood, and ended two hours later. In the meantime, the driver was seen handing out money to children, as well as taking selfies and high-fiving bystanders.
About an hour into the chase, the driver appeared to be seen throwing money out on the corner of 92nd Street and Compton Avenue.
Derrick Bogar, 36, surrendered when the green taxi he was allegedly driving was cornered by police. He was booked for felony carjacking, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Bogar reportedly got into the cab as a client, but showed the driver a gun and took off with the car.
