Mystery man is … Cliff Jones

A few posts down, I showed you a wonderful picture of a political rally in 1950. One fellow was unidentified. My friend and former colleague UNLV history professor Michael Green, (though you couldn’t tell it from his pesky pricky posts to my blog), thought it might be Cliff Jones. I talked with "Professor Joe" the historian in charge of making sense out of the Review-Journal’s phenomenal photo archive. Professor Joe agreed that Cliff was the likely suspect, but his sources just could not say for sure. So we called him "unidentified".

Well, as they say in the NFL, upon further review we now believe the unidentified man is, indeed, Cliff Jones. Here’s Professor Joe’s note this morning along with a photo that pretty much settles it, if you ask me.

Enjoy.

"Morning Sherm, further conversation on the identification of the individual in the political rally photograph. I did an age progression comparison with a Cliff Jones photograph that I had from 1993 (attached) And the results are rather convincing, hairline, inner ear structure, cleft chin, mouth posture, eye position, all point to positive match…..JOE"
