‘Mythbusters’ film gunfire using ultra high-speed camera — VIDEO

The gang from “Mythbusters” have given a whole new meaning to the phrase “faster than a speeding bullet.”

Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage have revolutionized the art of filming a bullet being fired from a gun. The pair filmed the slow-motion phenomenon using the Phantom, a camera which runs at 73,000 frames per second.

The ultra high-speed camera allowed them to film particles that would normally not be visible to the naked eye.

As the bullet leaves the barrel, the camera perfectly captures a mushroom cloud of gas and tiny fragments being dispersed into the air. The astonishing footage also shows a trail of pressure and fire that are left behind in the wake of the speeding bullet.
