Reid 48, Angle 47 in new Rasmussen poll
The Nevada Senate race remains statistically deadlocked, according to the latest measure by Rasmussen Reports out today.
Democratic Sen. Harry Reid shows 48 percent support among likely voters while Republican challenger Sharron Angle has 47 percent in the survey conducted Tuesday that carries a plus or minus 4 percent margin of error. Rasmussen said those numbers include "leaners," people who are not certain but told pollsters they were leaning to one candidate or the other.
"Ninety-three percent of Reid’s supporters say they are certain how they will vote in November. Eighty-eight percent of Angle supporters say the same. But one thing’s for sure: This race isn’t a popularity contest," Rasmussen says.
A poll conducted Sept. 20-22 by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8 NewsNow showed Reid and Angle knotted at 43 percent.
A poll conducted Sept. 21-23 by Republican firm Public Opinion Strategies for the Nevada Retail Association showed Reid ahead 45-40. It was the first survey to show the incumbent with a lead greater than the margin or error.
