Scottish couple miss Vegas vacation after ticket confusion

A Scottish couple thought they were going back to visit Las Vegas earlier this year after buying discounted tickets, but a small mistake cost them that trip.

Mary MacQueen and her husband bought tickets from Glasgow, Scotland to Las Vegas in May for just £647 — or about $1,000 — but the tickets were for a different Glasgow.

The flight was from Glasgow, Mont., a town of about 3,000.

“I had no idea there was a Glasgow anywhere else in the world. I got the fright of my life when I saw the e-tickets,” MacQueen told the Daily Record. “You really couldn’t make this up.”

When the couple asked for a refund, they were assured their money would be returned, but six months later, it wasn’t.

The company they booked the tickets with said it was the airline’s responsibility, and the airline responded with the reverse.
