Summerlin adds new restaurants

With more than 75 restaurants, the master-planned community of Summerlin is a great place to dine. Recently opened restaurants include Hachi, a contemporary Japanese restaurant in Red Rock Casino, Resort, Spa in Summerlin Centre; and Maru, a Korean/Japanese restaurant located in the Hills Center Business Park in The Hills South Village.

Both restaurants feature a sushi bar, as does Shizen in the J.W. Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa located in The Canyons village.

Along with sushi, there are dozens of other dining venues to consider, according to Nikki Liesse, marketing director for The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin.

Vintner Grill, for example, features a variety of American dishes with Mediterranean influences from Spain, France and Italy; Agave Mexican Restaurant features southwest cooking and an extensive wine list and tequila bar; and T-bones Chophouse features tender, oversized dry-aged prime steaks, signature bone-in meats and fresh fish flown in daily.

“Summerlin is coming into its own as a hot spot for restaurants in the Las Vegas Valley,” Liesse said. “We expect the community will continue to grow in popularity as a great place to dine once The Shops at Summerlin Centre opens in late 2009. More than 10 restaurants are expected to open within this outdoor regional retail center.”

Located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin encompasses 22,500 acres with approximately 9,000 acres still remaining to accommodate future growth within the master plan, including the community’s urban core of Summerlin.
