Watchdog says Reid benefits the most from gambling interests

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has benefited "more so than any other lawmaker" from casino and gambling interests says Dave Levinthal, a spokesman for the Center for Responsive Politics.

The DC-based group that tracks campaign contributions on its website OpenSecrets.org, found more than $700,000 rolled into Reid’s campaigns from gambling interests over his Senate career. Those gaming interests, with deep roots in Nevada, would benefit from a bill to legalize online poker that Reid wants approved during the lame duck session.

"It’s a gamble by the gambling industry," Levinthal says in an interview with Southern California Public Radio.
