YOUR WEEKEND: Four-legged friends invited to frolic at pet fair
The Rainbow Library hosts its annual Petstacular Pet Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, in the amphitheater at 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.
Other events include a pet parade at 11:30 a.m., grooming tips at 12:30 p.m., award-winning journalist and author Steven Winn talking about his memoir “Come Back, Como: Winning the Heart of a Reluctant Dog” at 1 p.m. and a presentation about therapy dogs by Sue Grundfest and Coco the Love Dog at 1:30 p.m.
Animal adoptions will be coordinated at the pet fair by the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and fun activities for children of all ages, including games, also are planned. In addition, vendors will be on hand selling various pet-related wares and services. Refreshments also will be available.
The first 300 attendees will receive a free pet photo to take home. Pets are welcome at the event, provided they are current on their vaccinations and are on a leash or otherwise contained at all times.
