YOUR WEEKEND: It’s aloha time at the Cannery

The Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road, will host the eighth annual Pure Aloha Festival featuring cuisine, arts and crafts, performances and entertainment straight from the islands of the Pacific April 17 through 19. The celebration will feature evening concerts on both Friday and Saturday and a daytime festival that will showcase the best of the Hawaiian culture on Saturday and Sunday at The Club.

The concert on Friday will feature performances by Katchafire, Rebel Souljahz and HaleAmano. Doors open at 6 p.m., and tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The concert on Saturday will feature performances by Willie K and Hawaiian Soul. Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets are $24 in advance and $29 at the door. Children under 10 will be admitted into the concerts for free. Tickets are available for purchase by calling 507-5757, or by visiting www.cannerycasinos.com.

The daytime festival kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and will showcase a variety of cultural activities for the entire family, including amusement rides, arts and crafts, live performances and authentic Hawaiian cuisine. General admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit the local nonprofit organization Three Square. Festival tickets are only available for purchase at the door.
