Metropolitan Police Department (Las Vegas Review-Journal, File)

A man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a fatal stabbing that happened late Monday morning.

The stabbing occurred around 11:10 a.m. at a park in the 800 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, near H Street, the Metropolitan Police Department said. Kianga Isoke Palacio Park is located at that address.

According to Metro, the Clark County coroner’s office contacted the department about five hours after the stabbing to notify police of a man who had been brought to a local hospital before he died from a stab wound to the abdomen.

The coroner’s officer later identified the victim as 42-year-old Kimothy Wright.

Metro jail booking records show that 45-year-old Darnell Davis was arrested on suspicion of murder and listed under the stabbing’s event number.

Davis is due in court for his initial appearance on Wednesday afternoon.
