Signs of fall: Showers pepper Las Vegas Valley, mountains see snow

The Las Vegas Valley saw some signs of fall Tuesday as light showers and strong winds blew across the area. Temperatures dropped as well.
The nearby mountains saw some snow and significant rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Harry Reid International Airport recorded a trace of rain and parts of the valley saw a few sprinkles.
The Spring Mountains and Sheep Range were under a winter weather advisory until 11 p.m. The NWS said 4 inches of snow were likely above 7,000 feet, with winds gusting to 40 mph.
Lower elevations saw light rain. For example, Rainbow Canyon recorded 0.47 inches of rain, and the Harris Springs area registered 0.71 inches, according to gauges with the Regional Flood Control District.
The region was under a wind and dust advisory until 9 p.m.
