Crashes, ‘Main Event’ create hellish commute in Las Vegas

Construction from Project Neon’s “Main Event” and multiple accidents made the morning commute difficult Wednesday morning. A fatal accident on southbound Highway 95 early Wednesday at Rainbow Boulevard caused serious slowing. 1 person was killed in the crash and another was in critical condition, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Smaka. The Highway Patrol tweeted that they weren’t wearing seatbelts and investigators believe marijuana and alcohol impairment and speeding were contributing factors. Another rollover crash on northbound U.S. 95, near Charleston Boulevard, reduced traffic to 1 lane and created a mileslong backup. Morning commuters crawled in both directions of the Spaghetti Bowl interchange. I-15 is currently reduced to three lanes between Sahara Avenue and Alta Drive for “Main Event” closures.
