1 hospitalized in west valley shooting

A person is hospitalized after a shooting Wednesday night in a west valley 7-Eleven parking lot, according to Las Vegas police.

Police were called just before 7:30 p.m. to the 2000 block of Jones Boulevard, near Lake Mead Boulevard, to reports of a shooting, said Metro Lt. Kendall Bell.

The person who was shot, a male whose age was not immediately available, was taken to University Medical Center.

It was unclear if the male's injuries were life-threatening, Bell said.
