Injury to BYU’s Hill worse than first believed

The injury suffered by BYU quarterback and dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate, Taysom Hill, was worse than initially believed.

BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall on Monday said not only did Hill break his leg against Utah State on Friday night, but that he shredded every major ligament in his leg.

Mendenhall said doctors inserted a plate and eight screws in his leg.

On Sunday, Hill tweeted that surgery was a success. The junior quarterback finishes the season with 975 passing yards, 463 on the ground and 15 touchdowns.
