National Automobile Museum reopens after Reno fire

RENO — The National Automobile Museum has reopened in Reno after being closed for nearly two weeks due to fire damage caused by a suspected arsonist.

The June 20 fire ruined walls and flooring in the front entrance of the museum along the Truckee River, and did some serious damage to a 1969 Ed Roth trike.

Repairs are continuing, but the 12-day closure ended on Wednesday.

Museum sales and marketing manager Becky Contos said they wanted to be open in time for the holiday weekend and needed to start making money again. She estimates the damage was around $250,000.
