Coroner IDs man shot and killed Sunday

The man who died in a Sunday morning shooting in the north valley was identified Tuesday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Issachar Akaka, 18, of Las Vegas, died of a gunshot wound to the torso, the coroner’s office reported.

He was one of four people who were shot just after 5 a.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Rancho Drive, near Cheyenne Avenue. Police believe they were at a party when they were involved in an argument that escalated into a fight.

As they left the scene by car, another vehicle drove up next to them and a passenger from the second vehicle fired a handgun, hitting all four people in the first car.

Three of the passengers were taken to University Medical Center.

Akaka was pronounced dead at the scene.
