Henderson police arrest 2 accused of taking boy in Florida

Henderson police arrested a man and a woman on Thursday who they say are accused of abducting the woman’s 3-year-old son and driving a stolen vehicle.

The pair, who don’t have custodial rights of the autistic and non-verbal boy, took him from a Burger King in Florida during a supervised visit on March 6.

Thursday, police found 50-year-old Karl Menz and 49-year-old Virginia Lynch near Boulder Highway and Lake Mead Parkway with help from the FBI, police said.

Menz and Lynch were driving a white U-Haul van with the boy in the back. The two surrendered to police, and the uninjured boy was put in the care of Clark County Child Protective Services.

Menz and Lynch are being held at the Henderson Detention Center and face charges of possession of a stolen vehicle. They also have outstanding warrants.
