Northern Nevada man charged after running back into burning home

MINDEN — A Douglas County man is facing charges after authorities said he interfered with firefighters trying to extinguish a blaze in his garage.

The Sheriff’s Office said the fire broke out Friday at a home in the Indian Hills subdivision. Authorities say Blake Lister claimed to be a Bureau of Land Management firefighter.

After being told to stay away from firefighters working the blaze, Lister ran into the burning building and locked himself inside, police said.

Deputies went in after him and arrested Lister when he refused to leave the building.

He was booked on charges of interfering with extinguishing a fire and obstructing a police officer.

Bail was set at $1,280.
