Democrats attack Heck with ‘Game of Life’ spoof

The national Democratic Party is playing games with U.S. Rep. Joe Heck, R-Nev.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, or DCCC, on Tuesday launched an online ad campaign against Heck for opposing President Barack Obama’s health care insurance reform.

It’s modeled after the board “Game of Life,” but is called “Sick N’ Broke.”

The board spaces in the game illustrate various features of Obamacare. For example, one space says, “Uh-oh. Born with a pre-existing condition. Go back two spaces.” Another says, “Under 26? Lose your healthcare.” At least one of the spaces might deserve an “R” rating: “Ladies, want contraception?” it asks. “Slut.”

The game can be seen at: www.RepublicanHealthGames.com. The DCCC plans to tailor the online game and ad campaigns against Republicans such as Heck who are running for re-election in competitive swing districts.

Heck is running for a third term to represent the 3rd Congressional District in Southern Nevada. His main Democratic competition is Erin Bilbray, a political consultant who’s backed by the party and U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.

“Whether it’s being able to afford an emergency C-section, making sure kids get the right nutrition, ensuring women don’t have to pay more for their care or guaranteeing Medicare’s future, Congressman Heck and his Republicans play reckless games that hurt your health at every stage of life – all because they would rather stack the deck for their special interest buddies,” said Emily Bittner of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Now you can see just how much of a mess Congressman Heck would make of your health care – but one spoiler alert: in this game, you can’t win.”
