Coroner: Man in fatal van accident ID’d

A North Las Vegas man who died after losing control of his van Saturday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Juan Carlos Gil, 49, died when his 2001 Chevy Astro Van crashed into a concrete pillar by the Woodlawn Cemetery at 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North Saturday afternoon.

Las Vegas police said Gil may have been suffering from a medical condition prior to the incident, so he has not been listed yet as a traffic fatality.

The coroner’s office did not release the cause or manner of his death Sunday.
