23-year-old who died in Wednesday car crash identified

The driver who died after crashing into a pole Wednesday night on Buffalo Drive has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s office.

Brett Tyler Spockmaik, 23, of Las Vegas drove his 1994 GMC Suburban into a traffic signal pole around 10:40 p.m., Las Vegas Police said.

The vehicle caught on fire, and the driver was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries were reported.

This is the 81st taffic fatality in the Las Vegas valley this year.
