KFC robbery fail: Gun-less suspect chickens out, flies coop

Diners expected finger-lickin’ good food. Instead they met a finger-clickin’ bad guy.

Las Vegas police said a man earlier this month tried to rob the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 2312 S. Maryland Parkway by simulating a handgun with his gloved hand.

The man entered the restaurant about 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 5 and ordered everyone to the ground. He demanded money from the register, but the employees wouldn’t budge, police said.

The man tried grabbing for a customer’s purse, but she was able to fight him off, police said. The man left without getting anything — even a side of macaroni and cheese.

The suspect was described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 35. He stood about 5 feet 10 inches and wore a black beanie hat, a hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and dark shoes.

Anyone with information on the attempted robbery was asked to call the police Robbery Section at 702-828-3591, or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.

Any tips leading to an arrest or indictment through Crime Stoppers could result in a cash reward.
