Service set for land broker Atwell

A memorial service for former prominent casino land broker David Atwell is set for Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at International Church of Las Vegas, 811 Westcliff Drive, with a celebration of his life at Piero’s restaurant to follow, said Heather Atwell, one of Atwell’s daughters.

Atwell, who engineered some of the Strip’s biggest land deals, died from cancer at age 63 on Monday. He was the former president of Resort Properties of America and a Las Vegas resident since 1955.
