Coroner identifies motorcycle rider who fled from police

The man who crashed his motorcycle and died after evading police Sunday night in east Las Vegas has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Anthony Richard Lucero, a 22-year-old Henderson resident, sped up when a Las Vegas police officer tried to stop him on Charleston Boulevard near Tree Line Drive for riding an unregistered Honda motorcycle, police said.

Lucero ran multiple red lights on Charleston Boulevard as the police officer followed him in his patrol car, and finally crashed into a 2006 Dodge Caravan turning left at Linn Lane a little after 10:30 p.m., police said.

Lucero was pronounced dead at the scene.
