Lady Rebels fall to Fordham in tournament

Alana Cesarz hit 6 of 12 shots from the field, including all three of her 3-point attempts, but her 18 points weren’t enough to overcome two 20-point scorers for Fordham as UNLV fell 72-63 in the first round of the Lady Rebel Round-Up on Saturday at Cox Pavilion.

Hannah Missry and Erin Rooney each scored 20 points for the Rams.

UNLV led 16-15 midway through the first half, but Fordham went on a 12-0 run and never trailed again.

Cesarz added eight rebounds for UNLV. Danielle Miller had 15 points and four assists in the loss.

Cincinnati beat Charlotte 71-64 in the other game.

UNLV (2-4) will play Charlotte at 1 p.m. today in the consolation game at Cox Pavilion. Fordham (5-2) will meet Cincinnati in the championship game at 3:30.
