In honor of National Park Week entrance fees will be waived

Get out the map and put your wallet away. Lake Mead, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and the rest of the National Park System are offering free admission Monday through Friday .

Entrance fees will be waived at all of the roughly 400 sites managed by the Park Service in honor of National Park Week.

But be sure to bring along some money anyway, just in case you want to eat or stay the night. Fees for camping, lake use or use of concessions still apply.

The next fee-free day will be Aug. 27, in celebration of the National Park Service birthday.

Of course, you don’t have to worry about that if you’re headed to Great Basin National Park. The only national park located entirely in Nevada doesn’t collect entrance fees.
