Former aide to Berkley, Bryan picked temporary ACLU chief

The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada has selected a former aide to ex-Congresswoman Shelley Berkley as the group's interim executive director.

Tod Story served as district director for Berkley for 14 years until the Democrat lost her bid to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Dean Heller in November. Before that, Story was an aide to former U.S. Sen. Richard Bryan.

The UNLV graduate replaces Dane Claussen, who announced in November he was stepping down as head of Nevada's ACLU effective Jan. 31.

Board President Robert Chester said they are fortunate to have Story's experience and expertise while they search for a permanent director.
