CLARIFICATION

In a Sept. 30 article regarding the Las Vegas Constable's Office, it was reported that Lou Toomin was made a deputy constable in March 2011 though California records showed him to be a felon. Toomin pleaded guilty in 1968 to felony grand theft. He completed probation in 1969 on the theft charge, and the plea of guilty was then set aside. Toomin filed a motion in August 2011 to clarify the record in the case. In August 2011, the Superior Court in Los Angeles granted Toomin's motion and corrected the record in the case to show that the felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor in December 1969.
