Vice presidential candidate Ryan to stump in Reno on Monday

CARSON CITY - Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will be back in Reno on Monday morning to ask Nevadans to vote for Mitt Romney and him on Election Day.

Ryan will return for his third campaign appearance in Northern Nevada after holding a 16-minute rally Thursday at the Reno-Tahoe Convention Center that drew more than 500 people.

Republicans hold a narrow registration lead in Washoe County. If Romney and Ryan are to win Nevada, then they need to gain a substantial voter lead there and in rural Nevada to offset heavily Democratic Clark County.

Nevada is one of the battleground states that are considered toss-ups, inducing candidates from both parties to show up frequently.

Ryan will speak at Atlantic Aviation on the east side of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Supporters are being asked to show up as early as 6:30 a.m. for the 8:30 a.m. event.
