Jane Gruner named deputy director at Nevada HHS

CARSON CITY - A veteran within the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services has been named deputy director of programs for the agency.

The appointment of Jane Gruner was announced Tuesday by Director Mike Willden.

Gruner begins her new job Monday.

She is currently deputy administrator for the Mental Health and Developmental Services Division, a position she's held since February 2011. Besides her new duties, she will continue assisting in the transition of programs into the Division of Aging and Disability Services.

Gruner starting working at the department in 1978 as a professional teaching parent. She has also worked as a mental health counselor, community services director and administrator for Sierra Regional Center.

She holds a bachelor's degree in special education and a master's in counseling and personnel services.
