Paul Ryan plans Friday campaign stop in Sparks

CARSON CITY- Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will visit a trucking company in Sparks on Friday, a source with the Mitt Romney campaign confirmed Wednesday.

It marks the second Nevada appearance by Ryan, a Republican congressman from Wisconsin, since he was selected by Romney as his running mate on Aug. 11.

Ryan will visit Peterbilt Truck Parts and Equipment. The time of his appearance has not been announced.

It is Ryan's s first trip to Washoe County, considered by many as the county that will decide which candidate wins the Nevada presidential race in November. Clark County is heavily Democratic, while rural Nevada is decisively Republican. In Washoe County, Republicans hold a narrow 3,400 registered voter lead over Democrats.

Obama has visited Washoe County three times since May. He won the county in 2008.
