Body of man who drowned while tubing in Truckee River found

A man whose body was pulled from the Truckee River was an apparent accidental drowning victim, according to Reno police.

The victim had been tubing with friends on the river and was reported missing Saturday night. He was last seen near Reno's Oxbow Park.

Officers found and recovered his body near Idlewild Park in Reno.

The victim's name wasn't immediately released.

Police are urging the public to be aware of the river's strong currents and low temperatures and to wear life vests.
