Meeting focuses on Henderson redevelopment

Representatives of the Environmental Protection Agency and Bay Area Economics will host a public information session on July 11 about the Henderson Redevelopment Agency's efforts to revitalize the eastern part of the city.

It will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 Water St.

The meeting is the result of a grant the Redevelopment Agency received earlier this year through the EPA's Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities Program.

The federal program helps communities adopt sustainable planning methods to safeguard the environment and spur economic development while improving the public health.

Bay Area Economics is an urban economics and public-benefit real estate development company.

The meeting will focus on the Redevelopment Agency's efforts to revitalize almost 509 acres of the eastern part of Henderson, encompassing the downtown area of the Water Street District.

For more information, contact the Redevelopment Agency at 702-267-1515.

Contact reporter Carri Geer Thevenot at cgeer@reviewjournal.com or 702-384-8710.
