Hunter-Reay wins Indy
race at Milwaukee Mile

Ryan Hunter-Reay held off Tony Kanaan to win IndyCar's Milwaukee IndyFest on Saturday at the Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wis.

The victory was the sixth of Hunter-Reay's career and first this season. He also won at Milwaukee in 2004 in the now-defunct Champ Car Series.

Kanaan was second, followed by James Hinchcliffe, Oriol Servia and E.J. Viso in a race that started an hour and a half late because of rain. Points leader Will Power finished 12th.

Defending champion Dario Franchitti started from the pole and dominated early - leading the first 60-plus laps before his first pit stop - but he fell back in the field, then spun out and hit the wall on lap 195 to end his day.

The victory was doubly sweet for Michael Andretti, who fields cars for Hunter-Reay as a team owner and served as the race's promoter.

Also: Joey Logano followed his Sprint Cup victory at Pocono last weekend with a victory in the Nationwide Series' Alliance Truck Parts 250 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich.

Logano held off James Buescher, who tried to pass Logano on the inside in the final seconds, for his fifth Nationwide win of the year and 14th of his career. He has won four of the past five races in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Kurt Busch, back from a one-week suspension, finished third.

Danica Patrick went into an early spin and finished 18th after a problem-filled race.

Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Bob Tasca (Funny Car) and Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) retained their No. 1 positions for today's final eliminations in the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol, Tenn.
