Horse rescued after falling into Utah basement

HERRIMAN, Utah - Rescue crews in Herriman, Utah, had to dig a trench and tranquilize a horse that fell into a basement over the weekend.

Police and animal control officers responded to the call Sunday and found the horse stuck in a basement window well. During the rescued attempt, the horse kicked through the window and fell into the basement.

Officials weren't able to lead the horse up the stairs, so they dug a trench and removed the window frame before tranquilizing the animal and pulling him out.

The 26-year-old animal had some cuts and scrapes, but was otherwise fine after the three-hour ordeal.
