CIRQUE DU SOLEIL, SPRINGS PRESERVE HOST RUN FOR A CAUSE

Mayor Carolyn Goodman performed the shotgun start as Cirque du Soleil and Springs Preserve hosted the 11th annual “Run Away with Cirque du Soleil” 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk on Saturday. Nevada Public Radio’s President and General Manager Flo Rogers emceed the event, and Cirque performers entertained and interacted with runners. The event was held in belated celebration of World Water Day, March 22, and 2012 marked the first year the event has sold out. The day emphasized the importance and sustainable management of freshwater resources. All proceeds raised will go to support Springs Preserve’s educational and environmental-sustainability programs.
