Seven Henderson businesses fail underage liquor sting

Police in Henderson say most of the 74 businesses they checked in an underage drinking sting operation didn't sell alcohol to minors.

Henderson Police say 67 of the convenience store, liquor stores, and grocery stores in the Saturday undercover effort abided by the rules and didn't sell liquor to underage volunteers.

Seven of the businesses failed the check. Officials say clerks at those businesses were issued a citation for serving an underage person and face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Owners or managers of a business that fails a second or third time also risk losing their business license.
