Commission OKs agreement with union

A collect bargaining agreement with the Juvenile Justice Probation Officers Association was approved Tuesday by the Clark County Commission.

As part of its first contract with the county, union members would undergo a 1.5 percent wage reduction, forfeit 16 hours of accrued leave and have their merit and longevity pay frozen for a year.

Under the agreement, new hires would not get longevity pay and would pay higher insurance premiums.

The agreement, which runs through June 30, is worth about $928,755, or 4.4 percent of its contract cost.

The 220-member union voted for the agreement Dec. 9.
