51s end skid at three games with 10-5 win over Sky Sox
Third baseman Brett Lawrie, shortstop Jayson Nix and right fielder Danny Perales each had three hits to highlight a 16-hit 51s' attack as Las Vegas snapped its three-game losing streak with a 10-5 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Wednesday night in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The 51s (50-48), who bolted to a 6-0 lead after two innings, didn't hit a home run but had six doubles, including two each by Nix and Perales.
Right-hander Jesse Litsch (1-2) picked up the victory, allowing five hits and four runs in seven innings while striking out six.
Litsch's only rough spot came in the fourth inning when he gave up a three-run homer to Sky Sox designated hitter Cole Garner and a solo home run to catcher Jordan Pacheco that cut the 51s advantage to 8-4.
Las Vegas extended its lead back to six runs with two in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by second baseman Chris Woodward and an RBI double by Perales.
Colorado Springs (44-54) added one run in the eighth on an RBI triple by Garner, who finished with four RBIs.
The 51s, who will open a four-game homestand against Tucson on Friday night, conclude their series with the Sky Sox at 11:35 a.m. today. Colorado Springs has won three of the first four games.
