Stingy Redbirds shut down 51s

Brandon Dickson and two relievers combined to shut out the 51s on five singles Thursday night in the Memphis Redbirds' 3-0 Pacific Coast League victory in Memphis, Tenn.
Dickson (7-7) worked the first seven innings and gave up four hits and one walk while striking out seven. Chuckie Fick got two outs in the eighth, and Victor Marte went the final 1 1/3 innings.
Tyler Greene and Nick Stavinoha hit two-out RBI singles in the second and fourth innings for Memphis (65-60), and Bryan Anderson homered in the sixth.
Former Redbird P.J. Walters (7-7) started for Las Vegas (63-63) and gave up two runs on seven hits in four innings. The right-hander went 32-23 in 80 starts with Memphis from 2008 to this season.
Darin Mastroianni went 2-for-4 for the 51s. Each Memphis starter had one hit.
