Teen charged with posing as physician’s assistant

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Authorities say a teen was arrested after posing as a physician's assistant at a central Florida hospital.

Kissimmee police say the 17-year-old performed CPR on a patient in cardiac arrest at the Osceola Regional Medical Center. The arrest report says the teen also performed physical examinations and other forms of care on an undisclosed number of unsuspecting patients.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the teen was arrested Friday after hospital officials called police about suspicions that he was an impostor.

The teen is not being identified by The Associated Press because of his age. He faces five charges five counts of impersonating a physician's assistant.

The hospital did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment Saturday. The teen is being held at a juvenile detention center in Orlando.
